With the abundance of peptides out there right now, I've been thinking a lot about collagen, which technically is a peptide, and differentiating it from say, a GLP-1 medication (also peptides).
When most people think about collagen for gut health, they reach for a scoop of flavored powder and stir it into their morning smoothie or coffee. That works for certain goals.
But if your digestive symptoms are rooted in inflammation, immune dysregulation, or conditions like leaky gut and inflammatory bowel disease, then the type of collagen you choose matters more than most supplement labels will ever tell you.
Did you know there are three main types? Type II collagen is one of the least understood, least discussed -- and most underutilized -- forms of collagen for gut health and I thought it deserved some love.
