But first, let's honest about peptides...
Peptides are very trendy online and in social media right now. Don't be fooled! Peptides fall between the cracks of being medications or supplements. There are serious medications that are peptides like semaglutide and light supplements like collagen powders that are all called peptides. That's a very wide range! The vast majority of peptides are not FDA approved . Because research data is freely available and because they can be cheaply manufactured, and because peptides are one of the biggest, and fastest-growing Gold Rushes in healthcare -- expected to be a $160 billion market by 2030 -- they are mostly sold to the public like supplements -- relatively harmless -- they are not. Buyer beware ! Safety is paramount. Peptides are more like medications -- and you should think about them that way. Most peptides being researched are powerful and designed to elicit specific reactions in the body. More often, they are researched -- and still being researched -- for certain types of bodies (usually animals ) -- with certain constitutions -- with certain conditions -- under certain circumstances. This may not be you. Peptides should be managed by a medical professional who is trained in their use -- and when not to use them. There is currently more anecdotal advice than medical advice out there. Few medical practitioners are aware of peptides or trained in their effective, therapeutic use. There is a lot of "n=1" experimentation, "bro science" and experience sharing. There is a lot of confirmation bias and misinformation. Message board posters or AI can parrot research and common search info -- but they are not doctors or clinicians . That's a big gray area. We know enough to be dangerous. People really need to know what they're doing. Most don't. Proceed with caution.
