## Hi. I'm Dr. Dan.

I wasn't always a doctor.

For twenty years, I was a stressed-out corporate communications manager.

I thought I had it under control. I ate healthy, I exercised, and somehow I was thirty pounds underweight with belly fat. I was sleeping four hours a night. I was pale, with dark circles under my eyes. My libido had checked out, and looking back, I was constantly irritable.

I also had a burning gut I ignored for three years. Doctor after doctor gave me prescriptions and referrals, and every one of them told me the same thing: my labs looked normal, everything was fine. It wasn't fine.

Finally, a friend pointed me to a naturopathic physician. She spent real time with me, she listened, and she suspected Celiac disease. She was right.

Within months of treating the actual cause instead of managing the symptoms, I felt better than I had in years.

And that kind of pissed me off!

Where had doctors like this been the whole time? Why didn't I know about them?

That anger became a career change. I left corporate life, earned my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine at Sonoran University in Tempe, Arizona, and for the past eight-plus years I've spent every clinical day treating patients whose stories sound like mine: scoped, doped, and sent

home still symptomatic.

## What I Treat

Naturopathic gastroenterology is the core of my practice: IBS, SIBO, "leaky gut," acid reflux and GERD, Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, Celiac disease, diverticulitis, constipation, and histamine intolerance.

Gut health and hormones are not separate problems, so I also treat hormone imbalance directly: bioidentical HRT for perimenopause and menopause, thyroid disorders, adrenal fatigue, and low testosterone and erectile dysfunction in men. Peptide therapy rounds out the toolkit for patients who need it.

The thread connecting all of it is the gut-hormone axis: gut dysfunction drives hormonal imbalance, and real hormone optimization has to start with the GI foundation. I go deeper into that connection in [Gut Health: What It Is and How It Breaks Down.](https://www.drdanwool.com/blog/gut-health-what-it-is-and-how-it-breaks-down)

## A Word on Credentials

Naturopathic medicine is a licensed, regulated profession in Arizona, not an unregulated wellness label. If you're weighing what that license actually means, the following articles walk through the training, scope of practice, and legal standing in plain terms.

### Now, it's an honor to help people every day, it's a true passion. I've been in the patient's seat and I have extraordinary empathy for how confusing, frustrating and scary it can be. I am committed to genuinely listening to my patients and their concerns while guiding them through the core naturopathic principles:

Find and Treat the Root Cause

Treat the Whole

Person

Respect the Healing Power of Nature

Teach

Prevent Disease

I genuinely want you to be well. I want to teach you that outstanding health is closely within your grasp. I’m committed to creating a ‘prevention revolution’ that eliminates the sick care model that bankrupts families and the health of our country.

For some patients, we make minor adjustments. For others, we set about for a major change. Either way, it’s a loyal partnership and we’re on the health journey together.
