[video transcript] Another way that Thanksgiving dinner teaches us how to prepare a healthy diet? Leftovers for lunch! This is actually a leftover video from yesterday, where we talked about how Thanksgiving dinner teaches us about diet and how we're supposed to eat, but I forgot something, and this is apt: leftovers. So we've got a leftover video to talk about leftovers for lunch.

## The Power of Practicality: Making Healthy Eating Easy

You know, when I recommend diets to people on a day-to-day basis as a naturopathic physician here in Arizona, I try to make it as practical and easy as possible. Now, if you've prepared something and you can just get to warm it up for lunch, there's nothing more practical than that.

Thanksgiving teaches us that. We have this huge feast, but we do the best we can and really never finish it, and there are usually a ton of leftovers. And they're usually just as delicious as Thanksgiving dinner itself. You may have turkey leftovers, you may have stuffing leftovers, whatever it happens to be. Turkey sandwiches the next day and other leftovers tend to be what we eat in the days, and maybe up to a week or more, after Thanksgiving.

## The "Make Too Much for Dinner" Meal Prep Strategy

It's no different when we're preparing our own diets. What I always recommend to people is: make a fresh dinner every night, make too much of that dinner, and then take it and pack it away in the fridge. Take it with you to work the next morning and have those leftovers for lunch.

It's really easy; it's grab-and-go food. Most people can make a pretty quick breakfast, and now you've also got a quick lunch. And then when we actually have time to prepare food at dinner time, when we're home from work, we're ready to kind of relax. We can make dinner a relaxing and enjoyable experience, and we actually have the time to do that.
